The important thing to remember when gathering evidence is that the more evidence the better - that is, the more evidence you gather to demonstrate your skills, the more confident an assessor can be that you have learned the skills not just at one point in time, but are continuing to apply and develop those skills (as opposed to just learning for the test!). Furthermore, one piece of evidence that you collect will not usualy demonstrate all the required criteria for a unit of competency, whereas multiple overlapping pieces of evidence will usually do the trick!

What evidence can you provide to prove your understanding of each of the following citeria?
Survive in the water
Use surface and underwater swimming techniques to escape from dangerous situations. Completed |
Evidence:
Enter water from a height and then surface. Completed |
Evidence:
Assume heat-retaining positions in the water as an individual and in a group environment. Completed |
Evidence:
Use improvised flotation devices to supplement buoyancy. Completed |
Evidence:
Fit personal flotation device (PFD) and maintain buoyancy through manual techniques. Completed |
Evidence:
Operate and maintain survival flotation craft and its resources
Deploy, inflate, right (upon inversion) and board survival flotation craft (multi-person or single-person life raft). Completed |
Evidence:
Escape from inside the survival flotation craft after inversion. Completed |
Evidence:
Rig survival flotation craft for protection from the elements and optimisation (or minimisation) of movement. Completed |
Evidence:
Inspect and maintain survival flotation craft throughout the survival period. Completed |
Evidence:
Manage survival resources. Completed |
Evidence:
Deploy and operate water and food procurement devices. Completed |
Evidence:
Operate signal equipment from the survival flotation craft. Completed |
Evidence:
